On December 3, 2014, hundreds of people came to hear Oakville’s very own Dr. Pamela Appelt, retired Judge of the Court of Canadian Citizenship and active board member of corporate and benevolent organizations around the world. Born in, Jamaica, Pamela studied sciences in England before coming to Canada in 1966 as a researcher in medical biochemistry at McGill. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and an honourary Doctorate of Laws from Northern Caribbean University. In 1979, she moved to Oakville, Ontario with her husband and two children, where she still lives.

The major theme in Dr. Appelt’s life is helping children and families live a better life.  Raised by a strong Christian grandmother, she has followed Jesus Christ her entire life.  Pamela now attends Faith Baptist Church.  She considers herself fortunate to have the opportunity to make a difference in our society.  “Sharing my faith and my purpose-driven life are even more meaningful as I see God’s hands leading in my life.”
